Originally a Victorian kitchen garden, the Walled Garden has been transformed into a place of beauty and tranquillity and is now a landmark destination for both weddings and wedding reception venues in Berkshire.
On the front cover of the NGS Berkshire magazine for 2015 and featured in The English Garden magazine in August 2015 (see pdf), this stunning area provides a wonderful space for wedding or other portrait photography and has been hailed by photographers for its rich choice of shots.
The Walled Garden also provides an idyllic location for an outdoor garden wedding in Berkshire. The main entrance, through period wrought iron gates, leads down a gravel path to an elegant pagoda which overlooks the sunken lawn. This acts as a beautiful focal point which can be easily viewed by 150 people seated in the sunken lawn and an additional 50 seated on the wooden decking behind.
There is no more romantic a setting for a drinks reception than this garden! Wander along the pebble paths and you will discover different “rooms”, planted with their own schemes and yet flowing harmoniously one into the next to make a beautiful whole. As the path twists and turns you will come across smaller terraces and places to sit, pause and imbibe – and each of these can house a station for drinks and canapés working from a central catering hub in the Pavilion. This is really a special place and your guests will never stop talking about it.
